Mosaic Iconography Project, Phase IV

The Platytera ton ouranon. Master Mosaic Iconographer Sirio Tonelli traveled again from his studio in Pietrasanta, Italy to install these mosaics on the ceiling and walls above the Sanctuary. The photo below-left is of the Platytera and angels on the afternoon of Holy Friday. Below-right is a detail of the Platytera (the semicircle in front is from the frame of the Iconostasion).

Sunday Liturgy and Other Services On-line

2009 Webcast Pledge Drive!

During Great Lent this year, we are conducting a pledge drive to help us continue to make webcasts of our services available.
Every Sunday and throughout the week, Internet broadcast of our services are watched around the world. From soldiers in Iraq, to converts in Africa, to shut-ins and the faithful everywhere, people watch, pray, and participate.
Starting in 1997, Holy Cross was the first Greek Orthodox Parish to in the United States to go on-line. Webcasts started as an experiment, and in just 1 year grew to the point where a single very high speed Internet connection would no longer suffice. Yes, it was Good Friday and the Resurrection Service when we had more viewers than we could handle.
Operating on a shoestring budget, the tireless work of our technology volunteers built the needed systems and provided continuing support.
Time has come, however, to replace our aged and unreliable equipment once again with new, reliable, and up-to-date units.
Our goal is to raise $20,000 during Great Lent this year. In the works are better quality pictures, much better webcast reliability, and even an on-demand archive of Sunday Homilies . . . but we need your financial help.
To make all this possible, please send your donations to :

Join us for our live broadcast of Orthros and the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom each Sunday (Orthros: 8:15 AM, Divine Liturgy: 9:30 AM - PDT) and to other services as scheduled.

WE don't even know. What we hope to do is to add new items frequently to keep you coming back -- specifically, items about our youth ministry : youth groups, athletics, dance, etc.; and websites that we've come across that you might find interesting. The first such website is listed below (along with a teaser picture from the site) -- we'll keep adding to this list as we go along. Enjoy!
